Current Welcome Bonus:

When you signup as a new player, most casinos offer an incentive known as the welcome bonus or signup bonus. They can be a percentage of purchase match like 100% up to $100 on your first purchase or a buy "x" amount and get "x" amount free. Some of those types can be pretty generous, I have seen a buy $50 get $200 free! They do this to give you a chance to try their casinos out for real money without risking too much of your own as well as to gain you as a player. All casinos have terms and conditions for these welcome bonuses which state the playthrough/wager requirements which must be met before you can cashin on any winnings from it. Playthrough requirements usually are your purchase amount "Plus (+)" your bonus amount "times/(x)/multiplied" by the number they indicate.
Here's an example: I purchased $50 and got a $50 bonus, the wager requirement was for me to wager the purchase ($50) plus my bonus ($50), that would be $100 times their requirement of 6 in order to cashin any winnings. That would mean I would have to wager the number of 6 times the $100 = $600. Deposit + Bonus = $100 X 6 = $600.
It's not meant to be a trick, you must realize that a casino is not in business to just give away money, if there were no purchase requirement, people would just signup, deposit and then cashin their deposit plus their new bonus. Also, in the terms and conditions there can be games that are not eligible to be played with the bonus. Make sure you read and understand so that your experience is the best it can be. I would hate it if I won a huge hand in blackjack only to find out that it was an excluded game under the bonus terms! You can also opt out of the bonus which is what I usually do, I just don't like having to worry about the excluded games and the wager requirements. You see, I have this dream I'm going to hit a very big jackpot and if I do, I don't want to have to worry about wager rules :)
